Update Dog Show Statistics—–Governor is Still Number 1!

Governor is still the #1 Bichon Frise in breed with 384 Bichons defeated.  He is the #1 Bichon Frise in AKC National Championship standings with 451 points and Governor has moved up to #4 in all-breed with 3259 dogs defeated.  I am just one proud little Mama!

  • This is the text I received from Ellen Perry, Governor”s fabulous handler, about the day”s outcome. At first I thought it was a tease but then realized, Ellen does not have a mean sense of humor and he really won!!! I still smile all over and in my insides when I see this picture. Of course, it is my background on my cell phone.

    Governor has had a incredible year.  He has been the number 1 bichon in breed for the first six months of 2012.  He won a best in show specialty (BISS) on Sunday May 27, 2012 under the respected judge and Bichon breeder, Mrs. Deedy Sorenson at the Western Pennsylvania Bichon Club (hosted by Trumbull County Kennel Club, Inc).  What an honor!  On August 11, 2012, at the Arkansas Kennel Club show held in Little Rock, Arkansas, Governor won breed under Mr. Cledith M. Wakefield, a Group 1 under Mrs. Kathleen M. Grosso and Best in Show (BIS)  under Mrs. Doris Elaine Werdermann.  Then on Sunday, August 12, 2012, Governor won the breed and a group 1 under Mr. Vincent T. Grosso and reserve Best in Show under Mr. William Cunningham.   Holy Cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What a Fabulous Weekend!  Ellen and Governor———-You absolutely ROCK!

Governor’s 2011 Stats

Governor finished 2011 as number 6 all breed bichon with 1298 dogs defeated and number 10 breed bichon with 138 bichons frises defeated.  An impressive record not to mention that he did not even start showing as a special until the end of June.

Governor had a great early start to the 2012 year. He is currently the number 1 bichon in breed in the United States. What an incredible achievement for Team Governor and Ellen Perry!

Governor is #8 Bichon Frise in the Nation

After only 3 months as being shown as a special, Governor is ranked #8 All-Breed Bichon in the nation!! Way to Go Gov!  Gov has defeated 945 dogs since the end of June.  He is #14 breed bichon having defeated 66 bichon frise dogs.

Three Group 1 Placements in a Row

Governor took a group 1 placement on September 10, 2011 (awarded by David Doane, M.D.), September 11, 2011 (awarded by Raymond Filburn, Jr)and September 17, 2011 (awarded by Mrs Peggy Dillard Carr).  Thank you judges for recognizing Gov”s beautiful conformation and Lorrie, Larry, Ellen and Renee for making these wins a reality!

Governor is a Grand Champion!!!!

  • Governor achieved the title of Grand Champion which was awarded on August 26, 2011.

And a Group 3 to End a Great Labor Day Weekend!

Governor received a Group 3 placement on September 5, 2011 at Lexington Kentucky by judge Mrs. Paula Hartinger.  In 5 days of shows at Lexington, Governor took 4 Best of Breeds and three group placements.  Ellen, you have done Governor well!  Thank you!
